An important area of strategic focus for innovation in Germany is digitisation. The German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has launched “Smart Service Welt II” which is a new programme for digital services and platforms.
The program will be funded by up to € 50 million from 2017 to 2021, on top of an estimated € 50 million to be invested by the participants themselves. It promotes sustainable future solutions specifically with mittelstand-businesses and will focus primarily on: employment, mobility, living and primary care.
“The recent Smart Service Welt I program was well received, and the funding of a new program reaffirms the commitment of Germany’s government to creating a fertile digital R&D landscape,” said Dr. Benno Bunse, CEO of GTAI.
The technology program is part of the BMWi’s “Digitalisation Action” program and expands the current Smart Service Welt tech-programme into new areas.
