The largest art fair in Berlin, the Berliner Liste, is being held for the 13th time and will be open from September 15th to 18th in the famous and much loved Kraftwerk, an industrial building in the heart of the city.
Berlin’s biggest and longest established art fair showcases affordable, innovative and contemporary artwork. The fair brings together both individual artists and galleries in the same space thus allowing for a unique kind of interaction.
The Berliner Liste is also known for covering a wide spectrum of art works, from contemporary to classical and more traditional. Along with several other major annual artist events, the Berliner Liste highlights how important Berlin has become as a centre of arts, as well as having a cutting edge artistic scene.
The fair also attempts to make art both exciting and affordable. The aim is that visitors meet artists, go on a journey of discovery and potentially to collect pieces. Importantly, the fair spotlights young and emerging artists. As with much in the city, the Berliner Liste takes much of the inaccessibility and elitism out of the event. This year, in particular, there will be a focus on street art which has become very popular in galleries in recent years.
